The Winter Dream

Image
Quote: "I had a Dream about a day in Winter. Do you want to hear about it?" Materials: Black Ink, Red and Blue Watercolor, Ink Stamp Description: Red and Blue watercolors form a gradient on the page. Cool tones of the color blue meet the warm and inviting red. More warmth is needed as the cool color takes up most of the page. The quote, "I had a Dream about a day in Winter. Do you want to hear about it?" sits in the red as that is where that story primarily is, in the warmth of a cold winter. Open letter: To The Person in My Dreams When I was younger, I dreamed so vividly. I almost thought my dreams were messages from a higher being, as these were the only times I could see anything in my mind's eye. For most of my life, all I see when I close my eyes is void of blank emptiness where nothing can form. But in these dreams, I could see, hear and feel. There is one dream that still sticks with me to this day, and it is one that started on a day in Winter.  I drea...

What is Change?

Image
Quote:  "People Choose Change when They think It's Worth It." Materials:  Red Watercolor, Blue Alcohol-Based Marker, Ink Stamp, Black Ink Description:  Red watercolor and blue alcohol maker are used on two separate sides of the paper. There is a divide in their spacing on the page and how they fill the space. Yet, neither completely fills the page, both in their space and on the opposite side of the page. It really is a matter of preference which way you choose. The quote has been added to the center in black. The quote states, "People Choose Change when They think It's Worth It." The word "Change" transitions between the two colors.  Open Letter:  To those who could have changed There is a scene from "The Good Place" that always strikes me as significant. Eleanor gets to confront her mom, only to discover she has changed. The person Eleanor grew up with who was neglectful now is an attentive, caring partner. In a moment of frustration ...

Meaningless are your words

Quote:  "What is said is often not done." Materials:  Red alcohol marker, Brown watercolor, Black Ink, Ink Stamp Description:  A red marker stains the page. A representation of the root chakra's deep color. Brown water color turns black as it touches the page. The intentions of others may not fully be what you think they are. Do you trust what is or what you can see? How does it affect your stability?  Open Letter:  To Those Who Say One Thing and Do Another  It is funny how sometimes you make something with other intentions, and it finds a way to echo into other parts of your life. The passage I based this on was more of an open letter to those who never keep their word. To those who lie rather than be truthful. Yet, this echo takes me back to "The Man Who Chose Dance." As there is a continuation to the words written on this page that match the newest update.  Before I continue with the articulation of what is to happen, please be aware that there is n...

Joyless Me

Image
Quote:  "My Pain gave you Joy." Materials:  Watercolors of black, red, green, brown, blue and orange, Black Ink, Ink Stamp Description:  Watercolor droplets fill the page. A path of colorful droplets strikes the middle.  Open Letter:  To those who have given pain for their Joy.   I  wrote this letter a while ago when you were still interested in discussing our problems. It goes as follows: "Often, I hear this voice in the back of my head anytime I am happy. It tells me that I am a horrible person who does not deserve happiness. - It will say things like: YOU are annoying. YOU are discussing. All YOU will ever be is something that gets in the way of other people's Joy.  YOU are worthless. YOU will never be enough.  YOU deserve to suffer.  But I got to a place where I was happy and didn't hear that voice. I felt safe. On Saturday, when it was brought up that you were interested in being in a committed relationship, I wasn't scar...
